What is Social Media Day?
Social Media Day is a chance for all of us around the world to connect on a global level and with those right next door. It is a annual celebration of social media!
Social Media Day was started back in 2010 in Victoria BC, Canada by technology-giant Mashable and has been gained popularity in cities around the U.S. and beyond since then. Our own Lissa Duty was the first ever to organize and host an annual all-day Social Media Day celebration with her first conference in 2012.
The Social Media Day 2015 Tweetup will be joined by the Rocks Digital Marketing Conference Attendees, and members from many of the local groups, such as the DFW WordPress Group, DFW Social Media Marketing Group, DFW Search Engine Marketing Association, Dallas User Experience Group, Podcast Dallas, Dallas Entrepreneurs, BizLink, Speaker Co-op, and Social Media Dallas.
The Mayor of Addison, Todd Meier officially declared June 30th “Social Media Day” as well, so you will not only be celebrating with us business owners and digital marketing geeks from around Dallas-Fort Worth, but the Town of Addison.
